My daughter, Maria, and I enjoyed hearing you speak at the American Center yesterday.
We were impressed by your broad range of life experiences in the US, including your educational activities and your drive all across the country to visit 49 states.
Your determination to live there and to get the most from your experiences, both good and bad, was an important message to your young audience.

Maria is a dual-national Japanese and American, and is a second-year high school student in the Tokyo area.
She is fluent in Japanese and English and is also learning Italian and Spanish on her own.
She has done well in almost any sport she’s tried, including figure skating, basketball, soccer and track,
and has been practicing ballet since first-grade elementary school.
Currently her focus is on acting and modeling, so she is very interested in learning how to train and eat effectively for herself,
but she would like to be able to train other actors and models in these areas as well.
Her goal is to move to the LA area, near my relatives, to both pursue her acting career and study sports training.
She visited LA this summer and is considering a couple of universities such as UCLA and UC Long Beach.
You suggested going to smaller schools, so I was wondering if you can recommend any in the LA area.
I also have family in the Dallas, Texas area, so that would be a possibility, too.

親愛なる有間さん、

私の娘、マリアと私は昨日アメリカンセンター（大使館）で楽しんでお話しをお聞きできました。
有間さんの教育活動や、全米49州を全部訪問し、アメリカでの幅広い生活経験に感動いたしました。
実際にそこに住み、その経験から、良い経験も悪い経験もアメリカでの人生を最大限に生してきたことは、
これからの若い人たちにとって貴重ななメッセージと感じました。

私の娘は日本人とアメリカ人の二重国籍者で、東京都内の高校2年生です。
彼女は日本語と英語に堪能で、イタリア語とスペイン語も自分で学習しています。
彼女は、フィギュアスケート、バスケットボール、サッカー、トラックなど、スポーツを堪能しております。
バレエについては小学校1年生から練習をしています。

現在、彼女は演技とモデリングに焦点を当てているのですが、自分自身のために効率的にに訓練するための食事療法を学ぶことにも非常に興味があり、
俳優やモデルに必要な身体作りができるようにしたいと考えています。

彼女の今後の目標は、アメリカの親戚の近くで、演技キャリアを追求し、スポーツトレーニングを勉強していくことです。
彼女はこの夏、LAを訪れ、UCLAやUCロングビーチなどの大学をいくつか検討しています。
